Elliott Yamin to record independently
Elliott Yamin is the only top-five finalist on the U.S. TV hit "American Idol" not to get a record deal since the show ended, but he says he's OK with that.
As part of their agreement to participate in the show, contestants who reach the final 12 can sign with 19 Entertainment, which produces the show. Yamin did not land a deal with 19 Entertainment, but he told Entertainment Weekly he is not upset.
"Not at all," said Yamin. "What's the big hurry? What's the big rush? The folks who've signed to this point, they're with 19. I'm going to be able to make the music I want to make; that's all I have to say."
"He's entertaining offers," the New York Post quoted a Yamin spokeswoman. "There are two companies interested."
