"Idol" contestant says racy photos were "personal"
Antonella Barba’s run to become America’s next Idol has come to an end.
The New Jersey entertainer was one of four contestants voted off the show on Thursday night.
After her performance on Wednesday, the always harsh Simon acknowledged the “media attention” Barba has received.
“I feel for you because you’ve taken a lot of stick in the media,” he told her. “I think you’ve handled yourself well throughout and I don’t think anyone should be put in that situation.”
After hearing the viewers’ decision tonight, Barba became emotional as host Ryan Seacrest asked her what memories she would take with her.”So many memories, too many, I can’t even think about it now,” Barba said. “So many memories, but great ones.”
Barba had drawn intense media scrutiny over some racy pictures — purported to be of her — that were posted on the Internet last month.
Also eliminated on Thursday were Jared Cotter Sabrina Sloan, and Sundance.
