TIMBERLAKE SLAMS TAYLOR HICKS AGAIN!
Justin Timberlake has once again criticized Taylor Hicks, this time dismissing the “American Idol” winner as a “corporate creation.” “Taylor’s entry into the music business was completely manufactured by Hollywood,” the former “N’ Sync” member told Dateline Hollywood. “He didn’t work his way up like the rest of us.”
Timberlake previously caused a ruckus when he said that Hicks “can’t carry a tune in a bucket.” He later apologized for the statement, but this time Timberlake said he’s not backing down.
“To me, the most important thing about a fellow artist is that he be a genuine talent who’s all about the music,” said the ex-beau of Britney Spears, Janet Jackson and Alyssa Milano. “The problem with Taylor is that people mainly know him due to the excitement of ‘American Idol.’ I think it’s disgraceful when an artist is famous for any reason besides his musical talent.
“Whether it’s ‘N Sync, the Mickey Mouse Club, or my latest album, ‘FutureSex/LoveSounds,’ which drops on Sept. 12, I’ve always been about the music and that’s why fans flock to me,” added Timberlake, who is well known to many for exposing one of Janet Jackson’s breasts at the 2004 Super Bowl. “If Taylor thinks that fans are going to buy his albums just because he got a lot of publicity off of one thing he did on TV, he’ll be sorely disappointed.”
Asked for comment, Hicks burst out laughing and said he would call Dateline Hollywood back “if I can ever stop laughing long enough to get a breath.”
