Tamyra in Love

Tamyra Gray, who parlayed a fourth-place finish on season one of American Idol into an acting career, tied the knot Saturday with songwriter Sam Watters, a former member of the early-'90s group Color Me Badd, People reported.

According to the magazine, the ceremony took place in front of 45 guests on a cliff overlooking the sea in Capri, Italy. "They walked through the city and townspeople were opening their windows and cheering for them," Gray's manager, Lisa Braude, said.

She did not say whether the bride and groom's first dance was to "I Wanna Sex You Up."

Gray and Watters dated for two years before getting engaged on
Valentine's Day.

After his days of performing tunes such as "I Adore Mi Amor" and "All 4 Love" officially ended in 2000, Watters took his talent behind the scenes, cowriting Jessica Simpson's latest single, "A Public Affair," and working as a writer and producer with Kelly Clarkson and
Celine Dion. He also produced, arranged and wrote several songs, with partner Louis Biancaniello, on Gray's debut album, The Dreamer.

Gray, whose Idol performance of the Burt Bacharach tune "A House Is Not a Home" Simon Cowell called "one of the best performances on television" that he'd ever seen, made her feature film debut last year in the indie film The Gospel. Her song on the movie's soundtrack, "Now Behold the Lamb," debuted at number one on Billboard's Top Soundtracks chart.

The cowriter of Fantasia Barrino's number-one hit "I Believe" also enjoyed a seven-episode guest stint on Boston Public in 2003 and has appeared on Half and Half, Las Vegas, Tru Calling, What I Like About You and All of Us.
