Fox is developing a half-hour comedy revolving around "American Idol" finalist Kellie Pickler, says Variety.
Pickler will play a naive small-town Southern girl -- a character based on herself -- who discovers that her biological father is the state's well-respected governor. His presidential dreams are put in jeopardy, but the two form a father-daughter relationship that winds up helping his standing in the polls.

Kellie Pickler, Katharine McPhee and Mandisa goofed off in Sunris, FL, on August 5. McPhee tripped and fractured her foot backstage at an August 1 concert while sprinting to see Pickler’s performance.

After discussing war and peace in the Middle East, President Bush squeezed in a 10-minute photo-op Friday with finalists in the hit television show "American Idol."
They got the photos. Bush got a harmonica engraved with "American Idol 2006."
The 10 finalists dropped into the Oval Office to see Bush in between his meeting with British Prime Minister Tony Blair and another photo session with top high school students in the nation.
