The Special Olympics has put out a statement commending American Idol for not going soft on one of their own. The media gave Idol the Simon Cowell treatment after judges made fun of former Special Olympics athlete Jonathan Jayne during auditions on the show’s premiere.

Simon Cowell is launching his own aftershave.
The 'X Factor' judge is jumping on the current bandwagon and creating his own celebrity fragrance.
He told Britain's BBC Radio 2: "There's this cologne I really like and it's not very well known, so I'm thinking of partnering up with them and giving it my name."
Simon thinks the scent will be a big hit because of its fruity smell.
He added: "It's very citrus-y, it smells of limes."

Simon was asked recently what he thought about Clay Aiken's admission to taking anti-depressants to help deal with the fame associated with AI. True to form, Simon did not hold back.
