Sanjaya Malakar's hair-raising adventure isn't over yet. The recently dispatched American Idol contestant is now headed for the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner.
Malakar, 17, finally voted off the show Wednesday night after weeks of debate over his locks and singing chops, will be one of PEOPLE's guests at the Saturday night event at the Washington Hilton.

"American Idol" contestant Elliott Yamin almost missed U.S. President George Bush's White House meeting with the TV show's finalists, claiming he overslept.
"I had press to do this morning," Yamin said, the New York Post reported. "My sleep was interrupted, and I was trying to make up for it. The tour manager called me at the last minute (Friday) and said, 'We'll have a taxi to take you there for the photo.' And that's what I did."

President Bush is about to come face-to-face with the one man who has his voting record beat.
Bush plans to host American Idol Taylor Hicks and the other Top 10 finalists next Friday in the Oval Office. It will be the first time contestants from the hit television show have been invited to meet the president.
Hicks won the most recent season's contest May 24 after 63 million votes were cast for him in the season finale. That's more than the 59 million that Bush got in 2004, a record in any U.S. presidential election. Although, to be...
